UB40 feat. Ali Campbell

Maxi Priest joins UB40 feat. Ali Campbell and Aswad at Nocturne 2022

We were deeply saddened by the news of Astro’s passing in November of 2021. After much deliberation, Ali Campbell and UB40 will be proceeding with their performance at Nocturne Live 2022.

Unfortunately, Jimmy Cliff has informed us that he will no longer be able to perform at the event,  however, we are delighted that the legendary MAXI PRIEST will be joining the bill alongside Cleveland Watkiss presenting “The Great Jamaican Songbook” with special guest, the wonderful Ayanna Witter-Johnson: an evening of real reggae royalty.

Since his 1988 debut, Maxi has enjoyed tremendous success. He is the most successful reggae solo artist in the world, second only to legend Bob Marley. He has enjoyed numerous worldwide hits as well as number one pop chart smash with “Close to You” and is widely credited with helping spread the gospel of reggae and Caribbean music.

Cleveland Watkiss is one of the most celebrated British Jazz vocalists of his generation. He won the Ivor Novello award for innovation in 2021 and has been awarded an MBE for his services to music.

UB40 feat. Ali Campbell will perform some of their best-known hits from their string of chart-topping albums including ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘I Got You Babe’, ‘(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You’, “Food for Thought”,  ‘Kingston Town’ and many, many more.
